If you are a regular reader in our blog techsuvam.com, then you may have read our articles like 15s-du2040tu, 14q-CS0029TU etc laptop reviews. As I said in these earlier blogs design and look wise almost every 15q, 15s, 14s laptops are the same. HP has been trying some permutation, combination and launching new laptops every month.
I don’t saying these laptops are bad, I am using the same laptop for my blogging. It is working nicely from more than a year. But if HP had launch these laptops with new design then probably customers liked it more.
Configuration
Design: The new HP 14s-dq1090tu Laptop comes with a plastic body. It is a very thin and lightweight laptop, this will easily fit in your backpack. The weight of this laptop is 1.47Kgs and it comes with a Jet Black colour option. The only problem in the design you will get to see many fingerprints in this.
Display: HP 14 Ultra Thin and Light Laptop come with 14-inch diagonal FHD IPS BrightView micro-edge WLED-backlit with 250 nits.
Processor: HP 14s comes with Intel Core i5-1035G1 with 1.0 GHz base frequency, up to 3.6 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology. I feel Intel i5 10th generation processor is more than enough for a office use or casual use laptops.
RAM & Storrge: HP 14s-dq1090TU comes with 8GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. You can’t upgrade storage. If you need more storage then checkout more laptops with HDD. But I feel a laptop with SSD is far better than a laptop with Hard Disk. SSD makes a laptop faster and light weight, it can loads and open windows in less than 10 second.
Battery: This Laptop comes with a 3-cell 41WH battery which is below the mark compared to its price and specifications. But because it has a i5 processor, it will give around 6-7 hours backup on a single charge.
OS & Software: It comes with pre-installed windows 10 home with lifetime validity. Also because its an multasking laptop and especially manufactured for office use and student use that’s why you will get MS Office Home & Student 2019 with lifetime validity as well.
Ports: HP 14 Ultra Thin and Light Laptop comes with 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s); 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A, 1 HDMI 1.4b, 1 headphone/microphone combo. There is no DVD drive on it.

Speakers are good but do not expect it having proper sound system. Sound is better than dell laptops.
