I have a blog that I initially started as a hobby, but later I wanted to turn it into a business. I even hired a few writers for it. However, for the past two years, I haven’t published any content on that blog.
The interesting part is, despite that, I still earn around ₹4,000 to ₹5,000 every month from Amazon Affiliate Marketing through that blog. This is what we call passive income.
In today’s blog, I will share valuable insights on how I earn money while I sleep. You’ll learn about passive income and discover how to make money through Amazon affiliate marketing by putting in effort once and reaping the rewards for an extended period.
Affiliate Blogging Secrets: How I Built a Money-Making Machine
Back in late 2022, I started an Amazon affiliate blog called Gadgetsbhai.com with a big dream. To turn it into a proper business. I hired a team of writers and focused solely on creating affiliate-based quality articles. While I didn’t write the articles myself, I handled the SEO and strategy behind the scenes.

For about 3–4 months, we worked consistently. Every day, 2–3 new articles were published with the help of around 10 writers. I also built a few quality backlinks, and in just a few months, the website started getting traction. I documented the entire journey on LinkedIn during that time.
At its peak, I was spending ₹40,000–₹45,000 per month on writers. In return, the blog generated anywhere between ₹25,000 to ₹41,000 monthly through Amazon affiliate commissions. Although it wasn’t profitable at that stage, I was building a long-term asset.

Then Life Got Busy…
Due to some major Google algorithm updates and my own busy schedule, I eventually stopped publishing new articles on the blog. The last piece of content was likely published in 2023.
Yet here’s the interesting part: even though the blog hasn’t been updated in over a year, I still earn ₹2500–₹3000 every month, without doing any active work.
During the summer, the income goes up a bit more. Why? Because most of the articles on GadgetsBhai are focused on seasonal electronics like air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines etc. The kind of items people usually buy in summer.

The Power of Passive Income
Aside from updating the article titles (like changing “Best AC in 2023” to “Best AC in 2025”), I haven’t touched the site. Yet the blog continues to generate income. This is the true beauty of passive income. Work once, and continue to earn for months or even years.
Now imagine: if you had a blog like this and worked on it regularly, publishing SEO-optimised content, following trends, and building a strong brand, don’t you think you could earn ₹50,000–₹60,000 per month just by working 5–6 hours a day from home?
If I can earn ₹3000 per month by doing nothing, then someone putting in consistent effort could surely do much better. Just think about it once and try to start doing this.

Amazon Affiliate Isn’t the Only Option
It’s true that Amazon has lowered its affiliate commissions in recent years. If the rates were as good as before, my passive income from this site could’ve been much higher.
You can combine Google AdSense, brand collaborations, and other affiliate programs to diversify and grow your income. A single blog can offer multiple income streams.
Many of the products that sell through my Amazon affiliate links aren’t even featured in my blog posts. I often don’t even know what the products are! That’s the charm of Amazon Affiliate Marketing. As long as someone clicks your affiliate link and makes a purchase, no matter what the product is or how much the price is, you earn a commission (if that item is eligible).
