Two years ago, I started a blog because I wanted to launch a new blog, hire a few writers, and turn blogging into a startup or business. I named the blog gadgetsbhai.com.
In the beginning, I worked hard and published several articles. But for the past two years, I haven’t published a single new article on that blog. Still, I am making ₹1,000–₹2,000 almost every week from Amazon Affiliate Marketing. That’s what this post is all about.
Yes, you read that right. In the last seven days, I earned ₹1,728 through Amazon Affiliate Marketing, thanks to blog posts I had written two years ago. No new work, no fresh content. Just passive income rolling in while I was sleeping, relaxing, or working on other things.
In this post, I’ll break down exactly how that happened and how you can do it too.
What is Passive Income
Passive income means doing some work at a certain point in time and then continuing to earn from the results of that work for a long period without actively working again. That’s what passive income is. Affiliate marketing is one of the key sources of passive income, and among all types of affiliate marketing, Amazon Affiliate Marketing is the easiest to get started with.
Passive income means doing something once and reaping the benefits over and over again, without repeating the effort.
Think of insurance agents. They sell a policy once and keep getting commission year after year. Affiliate marketing works similarly, especially in the digital space. You create content once, like blog posts or videos, and it keeps generating income for you as long as people find and engage with it.
Exciting, right?
Affiliate Marketing Isn’t as Easy as It Sounds
Nowadays, in the age of social media and short-form video content, affiliate marketing is often portrayed as something very easy. It seems like you can start affiliate marketing today and begin seeing results within a month.
But just like any other work, affiliate marketing is not that easy. To succeed in it, we need to create content. You can’t just say “I want to start affiliate marketing” and expect money to start flowing in. If it were that easy, everyone would be doing it!
The truth is, you need content. And you need to put effort into creating content that ranks, attracts visitors, and convinces them to buy.
There are different types of content you can create, such as text content, video content, and audio content. But in my experience, text-based content offers the best return for the effort. That’s where blogging comes in.

Why I Chose Blogging
I started a blog called gadgetsbhai.com, inspired by blogs like Gadgets360. I chose this niche because I was interested in gadgets, and I knew people were constantly searching online before making purchases, especially during seasonal peaks.
For example, many of my articles are about AC and refrigerators, and they perform extremely well during summer. I have multiple blogs, YouTube Channels, LinkedIn and many more. So, from the beginning, I hired a few freelance content writers to write content for my new blog. During summer, I get the most sales.

A Real Example: My Last 7 Days in Earnings
Let’s talk about numbers and real results with proof.
In the past week, I earned ₹1,728 from Amazon Affiliate links in old blog posts. These articles were written two years ago and are now slightly outdated. Still, they brought in:
- 376 total clicks
- 3 confirmed orders
- 3 items shipped
Here’s what sold:
- A Daikin 0.8 Ton 3-Star AC
- An LG 1.5 Ton 3-Star AC
- One AC exchange commission
The total sale value? ₹49,372.62
My total commission? ₹1,728.04
Not bad for zero extra work, right?

How You Can Do It Too
The way I earn is through blogging. However, in the beginning, I, too, like many others, tried to become a video creator by making YouTube videos. Later, while learning SEO, I came to know about blogging and started my blog TECHSUVAM.
\We can do Amazon affiliate marketing through blogs, YouTube channels, social media, and more. I earn most of my income through blogging, and if you follow the method I’ve shared below, you too can start your blog and earn through affiliate marketing.
1. Start a Blog or YouTube Channel
Nowadays, many people are making content on ‘Blogging is dead’ or ‘SEO is dead’, etc. Ignore the noise, blogging is not dead. SEO is not dead. Content still works if done right.
Choose a niche, buy a domain, set up a blog on WordPress, and start writing helpful, SEO-optimised articles regularly. This is the way everyone does, even the biggest bloggers of the world.
2. Create Affiliate Content
From the beginning, sign up for the Amazon Affiliate Program. It’s easy to get started and doesn’t require tough approval. Use your blog to create content that recommends relevant products, and place your affiliate links naturally within your posts.
3. Promote Your Content Smartly
Don’t just publish and wait. Promote your articles on:
- Medium
- Quora
- Or through email newsletters.
4. Apply for Google AdSense
Alongside affiliate marketing, apply for AdSense to monetise your blog traffic with ads. It’s another great source of passive income.
However, you also need to keep in mind that having both Google AdSense and affiliate links in the same content may seem like it will double your earnings, but in reality, that’s not what happens. Often, the opposite happens.
If your blog has “how-to” related content, you can use AdSense there. But for affiliate-focused content, it’s better not to use AdSense at all.
5. Be Consistent and Patient
Keep writing, keep improving, and keep experimenting. Sometimes, all it takes is one viral blog post or one viral video to change your life. Not every content created by you will go viral. If one goes viral, it’s enough to make you rich. Just believe in the process and keep creating content consistently.
Final Thoughts
I’m not making lakhs every week, but I’m earning money without doing any work through this blog gadgetsbhai.com right now, and that’s the power of passive income.
So, start your blog, put in the effort, and let your content work for you even while you sleep.
